Edit or strip PDF metadata — without uploading

See what your PDF says about you — author, software, dates — then edit it or wipe it completely. All on your device.

100% private — files never leave your device

How it works

  1. 1

Drop a PDF to see its metadata instantly.

  2. 2

Edit the fields, or use "Strip all metadata" to clear everything including XMP.

  3. 3

Download the updated PDF — nothing ever left your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I strip PDF metadata?

PDFs quietly carry the author name, the software used, and edit dates. Stripping that before sharing removes personal traces — and since KeepItLocally runs entirely in your browser, no third party sees the file while you clean it.

What metadata can I edit?

Title, author, subject, keywords, creator, and producer — the standard PDF Info fields. "Strip all" also removes the embedded XMP metadata stream.

Does editing metadata change the document's pages?

No — page content is untouched. Only the document's descriptive fields are rewritten.
